The MUELLER STREAMLINE 9001210 is a 600R series reducing coupling with stop, manufactured from wrot copper for use in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping systems. It transitions from a 5/8 inch nominal diameter to a 1/2 inch nominal diameter using a C (sweat solder) end style on both ends. The integral stop shoulder ensures consistent, accurate insertion depth during assembly, reducing the risk of improper joint penetration. This fitting is domestically manufactured and suited for installation by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working with copper tubing systems.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a sweat-soldered copper line must be reduced from 5/8 inch to 1/2 inch nominal size. Typical applications include water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, refrigerant suction and liquid line transitions, and general mechanical piping. The C end style is compatible with standard hard and soft drawn copper tubing cut to length and deburred before soldering. It is well suited for both new construction rough-in and repair or retrofit work in tight mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting for use with standard 5/8 inch and 1/2 inch nominal copper tubing in plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B16.22 standards for wrought copper fittings. Shut off and depressurize the system, then drain all water or recover refrigerant before cutting into an existing line. Clean and deburr both tube ends and the fitting socket, apply flux, and solder using an appropriate lead-free solder alloy. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can damage the solder joint and distort the fitting socket.
