The MUELLER STREAMLINE 5883 is a 4-inch PVC DWV street 90-degree elbow designed for drain, waste, and vent piping systems. It features a spigot x hub end connection that allows the spigot end to insert directly into a hub fitting, reducing the need for an additional coupling. The fitting is manufactured from PVC material meeting ASTM D2665, F1498, D331, and D1784 specifications, delivering solid rigidity and resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure. Smooth interior walls minimize scaling and support consistent flow. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both residential and light commercial drain and vent assemblies.
This elbow is suited for industrial, sanitary, and DWV applications where a 90-degree directional change is required in a drain or vent line. The street configuration is particularly useful in tight spaces or retrofit situations where connecting directly to an existing hub fitting is preferred. The fitting conforms to NSF 14 and UPC standards, making it appropriate for potable-water-adjacent drainage systems and code-compliant installations. Mueller Streamline Co. operates as a national agent for CPF DWV, supporting consistent dimensional integrity and supply continuity across this product line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for 4-inch PVC DWV piping systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial drain, waste, and vent applications conforming to ASTM D2665 and UPC standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off water supply and verify the existing line is fully drained before cutting into any active drain or vent stack. Use an approved PVC primer and solvent cement rated for DWV fittings when making hub connections; allow full cure time before restoring flow. Do not over-ream the spigot end or use thread sealants not rated for PVC solvent-weld applications.
