The MUELLER STREAMLINE 5865 is a one-piece DWV combination reducing wye and bend fitting manufactured from Schedule 40 PVC. It connects drain, waste, and vent lines at a 2-inch by 2-inch by 1-1/2-inch nominal configuration, combining a wye and a sweep bend into a single molded body. The hub end style accepts solvent-weld connections on all three openings. This fitting is used in residential and light commercial drain systems where a branch line must transition to a reduced diameter while simultaneously changing direction. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this component as part of rough-in DWV assemblies in new construction and remodel work.
The 5865 is suited for gravity-flow drain, waste, and vent piping in interior above-ground applications. Its 2-inch main run and 1-1/2-inch branch outlet make it a common choice for connecting lavatory, laundry, or secondary fixture branch lines into a 2-inch main stack or horizontal drain run. The single-piece construction eliminates the need for a separate wye and elbow, reducing joint count and potential leak points in the assembly. Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems using 2-inch and 1-1/2-inch nominal hub-end solvent-weld connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local amendments. Cut pipe ends square, deburr, and dry-fit all connections before applying primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 PVC DWV service. Ensure the branch outlet is oriented correctly for proper slope and drainage direction before the cement sets, as solvent-welded joints are permanent once cured. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before pressurizing or flowing water through the line.
