The MUELLER INDUSTRIES W 01622 is a wrot copper 90 degree elbow fitting designed for sweat-soldered copper piping systems. Sized at 1/2 inch with a cup-by-cup (C x C) end connection, it creates a 90 degree directional change in a copper line using a standard solder joint. Wrot copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and a clean mating surface for reliable solder flow. This fitting meets multiple ASME dimensional standards and carries NSF 61G certification, making it appropriate for potable water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit work on residential and light commercial systems.

This elbow is used wherever a 90 degree turn is needed in a 1/2 inch copper water supply, hydronic heating, or refrigeration piping run. Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable plumbing code, such as the IPC or local equivalent. Both the tube end and fitting cup must be cleaned with emery cloth and flux-coated before applying heat with a propane or MAP torch; do not overheat the joint. Allow the fitting to cool completely before restoring system pressure and inspecting for leaks.
