The MUELLER INDUSTRIES RP15729 is a press-style refrigeration SAE flare adapter designed for use in refrigerant piping systems where a secure, leak-free transition between press-fit copper tubing and SAE flare connections is required. At 3/4 inches, this copper coupling fits standard refrigeration line sizes and is installed without open flame, making it a practical choice for HVAC technicians working in environments where torch use is restricted or undesirable. The copper construction provides durability and compatibility with common refrigerants used in residential and light commercial systems.
This adapter is suited for refrigeration and air conditioning piping work where press-fit tool technology is used in place of traditional brazed or soldered connections. It is intended for installation by licensed HVAC-R technicians performing refrigerant piping runs, system modifications, or repair work on split systems and other refrigerant circuit equipment. The SAE flare end connects directly to standard flare fittings found on service valves, manifolds, and refrigerant-side components.
Designed as an OEM-style press refrigeration fitting for use with 3/4 inch copper refrigerant lines terminating in SAE flare connections. Confirm press jaw compatibility with the specific press tool being used before installation.
Installation of this press fitting should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician using a calibrated press tool with jaws rated for the fitting size and series. Recover and evacuate refrigerant from the system before making any connections on the refrigerant circuit in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations. Inspect copper tubing ends for roundness and deburr before inserting into the press end to ensure a proper seal. Do not use a torch or heat source on the press end of this fitting.
