The MUELLER INDUSTRIES MUE-W01940NL is a two-piece, wrot copper companion flange fitting designed for 4-inch C x Flange connections in commercial and residential plumbing systems. The assembly pairs a copper solder-cup sleeve with an epoxy-coated steel backing ring, allowing the installer to solder or braze the copper end using standard wrot copper techniques. An EPDM insulator ring provides full electrolysis protection for both above-ground and below-ground installations. The epoxy-coated backing ring accommodates minor alignment adjustments and resists deflection and corrosion. At 13.50 pounds, this is a substantial fitting intended for professional trade installation on larger-diameter copper pipe systems.
This fitting is suited for 4-inch copper pipe flanged connections in commercial plumbing, mechanical rooms, HVAC hydronic systems, and municipal or industrial water service lines where a soldered or brazed copper-to-flange transition is required. The two-piece design simplifies installation by allowing the copper sleeve to be pre-soldered onto the pipe before the flange assembly is completed. It is rated to Streamline 125/150 lb. companion flange service requirements and is appropriate for potable water and general plumbing service applications meeting NSF 61G requirements.
Designed as a Streamline 125/150 lb. companion flange replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch wrot copper piping systems requiring a C x Flange transition. Compatible with standard 4-inch copper pipe conforming to ASME B16.22 and B16.50 dimensional requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber familiar with wrot copper soldering or brazing procedures and applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water system and allow all piping to cool completely before beginning work. Clean and flux the copper pipe end per standard practice before inserting into the solder-cup end of the fitting. Do not over-tighten flange fasteners, and verify gasket seating before returning the system to service.
