The MUELLER INDUSTRIES KH30010 is a Type K copper water tube manufactured from C12200 phosphorus deoxidized copper, designed for potable water distribution, HVAC hydronic systems, and mechanical piping applications. This tube measures 3-1/8 inches outside diameter with a 3.0 inch inside diameter and a 0.109 inch wall thickness, cut to a 10-foot length. At 4 pounds per foot, the full length weighs approximately 40 pounds. Type K designation indicates the heaviest wall thickness in the standard copper tube series, making it the preferred choice where durability, underground burial, or high-pressure service is required. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this tube in commercial and residential projects.
This tube is used in potable water supply lines, chilled and hot water hydronic distribution, and underground service installations where Type K wall thickness is specified by code or engineer. The C12200 alloy is standard for plumbing and HVAC water service and is compatible with soldered, brazed, compression, and press-fit fittings sized for 3-inch nominal copper tube. It is commonly specified in commercial mechanical rooms, institutional facilities, and large residential systems requiring 3-inch main distribution lines.
Designed for use with standard fittings and valves sized for 3-inch nominal Type K copper tube per ASTM B88. Suitable for potable water, hydronic heating and cooling, and general mechanical piping where C12200 copper is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, IPC, and ASTM B88 standards. Shut off and depressurize the water system before cutting or joining. Use appropriate tube cutters, reamers, and flux when soldering or brazing; follow IFGC and local fire codes when using open-flame joining methods. Support spacing should comply with code requirements for the pipe size and application.
