The MUELLER INDUSTRIES KH05002 is a Type K copper water tube rated for demanding plumbing and mechanical applications. Manufactured from Grade C12200 phosphorus deoxidized copper, this tube measures 0.75 inches outside diameter with a 0.625 inch inside diameter and a 0.049 inch wall thickness. The 2-foot length provides a workable section for short runs, repairs, or fabricated assemblies. At 0.418 pounds per foot, the KH05002 delivers the heavier wall profile that defines Type K, making it suitable for underground burial, high-pressure service lines, and applications where wall integrity is a primary concern. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
Type K copper tube is used in residential and commercial potable water supply systems, underground water service lines, and hydronic heating loops. The Grade C12200 alloy meets ASTM B88 dimensional and material standards and is NSF 61G listed for contact with potable water. This 2-foot stick is appropriate for tight-space repairs, short branch lines, manifold fabrication, and sample lengths used during system design or inspection work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock copper water tube for use with Type K fittings, valves, and couplings sized for 0.75 inch outside diameter copper tube in potable water, hydronic, and mechanical piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable edition of the International Plumbing Code and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting or joining any section of copper tube. Type K tube may be joined by soldering, brazing, or use of listed press or flare fittings rated for the service conditions. Avoid contact with dissimilar metals without appropriate dielectric isolation to prevent galvanic corrosion.
