The MUELLER INDUSTRIES BDNA-15875 is a wrot copper equal tee fitting designed for use in copper pipe systems across residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications. All three connections measure 3/8 inches and use a C x C x C (sweat) end configuration, requiring soldering for a permanent, leak-resistant joint. Wrot copper construction provides superior grain structure compared to cast fittings, making it well suited for pressure applications and systems that must meet strict code requirements. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This tee is used wherever a 3/8-inch copper line must be split or branched, including refrigerant line sets, domestic water supply, hydronic heating branch lines, and similar small-diameter copper piping systems. Its equal-branch geometry means all three ports carry the same 3/8-inch nominal size, simplifying layout where flow must be distributed evenly to two outlets from a single run. The sweat connection style is the standard for copper pressure fittings in these trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 3/8-inch nominal copper tubing in sweat-connection pressure piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B16.22 standards for wrought copper fittings. Shut off and depressurize the line and allow all pipe sections to cool completely before cutting and fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply an appropriate flux before soldering; overheating wrot copper can damage the fitting. Ensure all moisture is removed from the line before applying heat, as trapped water will prevent proper solder flow.
