The MUELLER INDUSTRIES BDNA-15730 is a wrot copper pipe coupling designed for joining 1/8-inch copper tubing in sweat-fit (C x C) configurations. Wrot copper construction means the fitting is formed from wrought copper, giving it a dense grain structure well-suited for soldered pressure connections in plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping. At 1/8 inch fitting size with a 1/4-inch outside diameter, this coupling is used in small-diameter line sets, instrumentation tubing, and other low-volume copper piping runs. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial applications where 1/8-inch copper tubing must be joined or extended. Typical scenarios include gauge ports, pilot lines, oil lines, and small-bore copper runs in HVAC equipment. The C x C end connection on both sides accepts copper tube ends for a standard sweat solder joint. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 units per purchase.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting compatible with 1/8-inch copper tubing systems using standard C x C sweat connections in plumbing and HVAC applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard soldering tools including a torch, flux, and lead-free solder per applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off the water or refrigerant supply and fully evacuate and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux both tube ends thoroughly before applying heat to ensure a complete, void-free solder joint. Do not overheat the fitting, as wrot copper couplings at this small diameter can reach soldering temperature quickly.
