The MUELLER INDUSTRIES BDNA-15641 is a wrot copper pipe adapter designed to transition between a sweat (solder) connection and a female threaded connection in copper piping systems. Sized at 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch with a C x F end configuration, this adapter is used by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working on small-bore copper lines. Wrot copper construction delivers reliable pressure performance and consistent soldering characteristics. The 3/8 inch outside diameter on the sweat end is standard for 1/4 inch nominal copper tube. This fitting is sold individually and ordered in multiples of five.
This adapter fits residential and light commercial plumbing and refrigeration applications where a 1/4 inch nominal copper line must connect to a female NPT threaded port or component. Typical installations include refrigerant line connections, water supply stub-outs, and instrument tubing tie-ins. The C x F configuration allows the installer to solder the sweat end directly to copper tube while threading into a fixed female fitting or valve body on the other end.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/4 inch nominal copper tube systems requiring a transition to a female threaded connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off and depressurize the system before cutting or fitting any copper line. The sweat end requires proper flux application, a clean mating tube surface, and a propane or MAP-gas torch to achieve a full solder joint per applicable plumbing codes. Do not over-torque the threaded female end connection — use appropriate thread sealant and hand-tighten before applying wrench turns to avoid cracking or deforming the fitting.
