The MUELLER INDUSTRIES ac10020 is a nitrogenized ACR (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) copper tube designed for HVACR systems. Manufactured to ASTM B280 and UNS C12200 standards from C12200 phosphorus deoxidized copper, this tube is pressurized with nitrogen internally to prevent oxide formation during brazing. Those oxides are a primary source of system contamination, and the nitrogen charge actively suppresses their development, keeping refrigerant circuits clean from installation forward. Rated to 700 psi on select sizes, it provides the mechanical strength and dimensional precision that HVACR service work demands.
This tube is used in residential and commercial HVACR installations where ACR-grade copper is required. Typical applications include refrigerant line sets, evaporator and condenser piping, and other closed-loop refrigeration circuits. The 1-1/8 inch OD by 20-foot length suits larger-tonnage systems where that line diameter is specified. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics working on split systems, rooftop units, chillers, and similar equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style ACR copper tube for use in HVACR refrigerant piping applications requiring ASTM B280-compliant, 1-1/8 inch OD copper tube.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician. Recover and isolate all refrigerant from the system before cutting or brazing any refrigerant line. Use nitrogen purge during brazing to complement the tube's internal nitrogen charge and minimize oxidation inside the joint. Follow applicable mechanical codes and refrigerant handling regulations, including EPA Section 608 requirements.
