The MUELLER INDUSTRIES AC06020 is a 7/8-inch OD ACR-grade copper tube designed for air conditioning and refrigeration line sets. Manufactured from C12200 copper to ASTM B280 specification, this tube meets the cleanliness and pressure requirements of HVACR and medical gas applications. It carries a 700 psi pressure rating and ships in a 20-foot length. Each tube is cleaned through a proprietary multi-stage process, charged with 99.9% nitrogen, and sealed under low pressure to maintain internal purity from the factory to the job site. Blue ink markings identify the tube as ACR and nitrogen-charged stock.
This tube is suited for residential and light commercial HVACR installations where ACR-grade copper line is required. It is appropriate for refrigerant suction and liquid lines, refrigeration equipment connections, and medical gas piping where ASTM B280 compliance is specified. The nitrogen charge protects the internal bore from oxidation and moisture contamination during storage and transport. The 20-foot straight length is a common format for field fabrication by HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and pipefitters working on new installations or equipment changeouts.
Designed for HVACR and refrigeration applications requiring ASTM B280 ACR copper tube with a 7/8-inch outside diameter. Also listed for medical gas use where applicable standards permit. UL listed for use in Canada and the United States.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or refrigeration mechanics. Shut down and isolate the refrigeration system and recover any refrigerant in accordance with EPA Section 608 regulations before cutting into an existing line. Use a sharp tube cutter sized for the OD to avoid work-hardening the cut end, and ream the bore to remove burrs before brazing or flaring. Re-plug cut ends immediately when work is paused to prevent contamination of the internal bore.
