The MUELLER INDUSTRIES a-2361-23 is a resilient wedge gate valve rated for 350 psi maximum working pressure, designed for potable water distribution systems. Available in sizes ranging from 3 inches through 12 inches, this valve features a non-rising stem (NRS) configuration and standard mechanical joint ends that comply with ANSI/AWWA C111. Interior and exterior surfaces receive a nominal 10-mil Pro-Gard Fusion Bonded Epoxy coating meeting ANSI/AWWA C550 requirements. The fully encapsulated iron wedge leaves no exposed iron, and a triple O-ring seal stuffing box provides reliable sealing performance. Licensed plumbers and waterworks contractors are the typical installers for this product.
This gate valve is suited for potable water main installations in both municipal and commercial waterworks applications. It is rated UL Listed and FM Approved at 350 psi and certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372, making it appropriate for systems that require compliance with drinking water safety standards. The 2-inch square wrench nut accommodates standard operating keys and can be configured for open-left or open-right operation depending on system requirements. Available sizes include 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 inches to cover a range of mainline and branch service applications.
Standard mechanical joint ends comply with ANSI/AWWA C111, making this valve compatible with standard mechanical joint pipe and fittings used in municipal potable water distribution systems. Available in 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 inch sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or certified waterworks contractor in accordance with local codes and ANSI/AWWA standards. Depressurize and isolate the line before beginning any valve installation or service work. Standard mechanical joint assembly requires appropriate gaskets, glands, and bolts per ANSI/AWWA C111 specifications. Verify that the operating nut orientation, open-left or open-right, matches the system requirements before final installation.
