The MUELLER INDUSTRIES 15790 is a wrot copper 45-degree elbow fitting designed for use in copper pipe systems requiring a change in flow direction at a 45-degree angle. Constructed from wrot copper, this fitting connects via sweat (C x C) ends, making it compatible with standard soldering methods used in plumbing and HVAC refrigeration piping. The 1/4-inch fitting size and 3/8-inch outside diameter suit small-diameter line applications. Plumbers and HVAC technicians rely on wrot copper fittings for their consistent grain structure, pressure integrity, and long service life in both hot and cold water systems as well as refrigerant lines.
This 45-degree elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic systems, and HVAC refrigeration piping where a directional offset is needed without a full 90-degree turn. The C x C (copper-to-copper) sweat connection is the standard method for joining copper tubing in these trades. The compact 1/4-inch size makes it common in refrigeration, instrumentation lines, and tight-space plumbing rough-in work where small-diameter copper tubing is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 1/4-inch copper tubing systems using sweat (C x C) connections in plumbing and HVAC refrigeration applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with sweat soldering copper fittings per applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and local amendments. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant line and allow all tubing to dry completely before soldering. Use appropriate flux, lead-free solder, and a properly sized torch for 1/4-inch copper work. Do not overheat the fitting, as excessive heat can damage the fitting or nearby components.
