The MUELLER INDUSTRIES 15765 is a wrot copper concentric pipe reducer designed to transition from a 1-inch copper line to a 1/2-inch copper line using sweat (solder) end connections on both ends. Wrot copper fittings are formed from wrought copper stock, which produces a denser, stronger grain structure than cast fittings and is the standard choice for pressure-rated plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping applications. The C x C end configuration means both the large and small ends accept a copper tube and are joined by soldering. Outside diameters measure 1-1/8 inches on the large end and 5/8 inch on the small end. This fitting is sold in a package quantity of 5.
This reducer is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating and cooling distribution piping, and HVAC refrigerant or condensate line work wherever a step-down from 1-inch to 1/2-inch copper tube is required. It is well-suited for new construction rough-in, remodel retrofits, and equipment replacement work performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting compatible with standard 1-inch and 1/2-inch Type K, Type L, and Type M copper tubing per ASTM standards, as used in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable IPC and IFGC codes. Shut off and drain the water or fluid system completely before cutting into existing lines. Clean all tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply flux per the solder manufacturer instructions before sweating the joint. Do not apply heat to a fitting already under pressure or containing fluid.
