The MUELLER INDUSTRIES 15763 is a wrot copper concentric reducer fitting designed to transition between 1-inch and 3/4-inch copper pipe in sweat-connect (C x C) systems. Wrot copper construction means the fitting is formed from wrought copper alloy, giving it a finer grain structure and higher strength than cast fittings. The outside diameter measures 1-1/8 inches on the larger end and 7/8 inches on the smaller end. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians wherever a copper line set or water distribution system requires a reduction in pipe diameter at a sweat joint.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and refrigeration line applications where copper tubing transitions from 1-inch to 3/4-inch are required. It is a standard sweat-connection fitting, meaning both ends accept soldering with lead-free solder per current plumbing code requirements. Typical install locations include water supply mains, branch takeoffs, and HVAC refrigerant line segments. Each package contains 5 fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for residential and commercial copper pipe systems using 1-inch to 3/4-inch C x C sweat connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM B88 copper tube standards. Shut off and drain the water or fluid system before cutting into existing lines. Clean and deburr pipe ends, apply flux, and solder with lead-free solder as required by IPC and applicable local codes. Do not overheat the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the copper or cause flux to burn off before the joint is complete.
