The MOTORS AND ARMATURES toc12.5 is a single-phase oval motor run capacitor rated at 12.5 microfarads (MFD) and 370 volts, designed for continuous-duty operation in HVAC equipment. Constructed with high-grade metallized polypropylene film and proprietary Epoxidized Soybean Oil (ESO) fill, this capacitor is built for long service life. It is rated to 158 degrees F and protected to 10,000 AFC. Heat tolerance has been validated through testing to 60,000 hours of run time. The unit is non-PCB and meets UL 810 safety standards. HVAC technicians use this capacitor as a start or run component in blower motors, condenser fan motors, and compressors.
This capacitor is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems where a 12.5 MFD, 370-volt oval-style run capacitor is required. Its compact oval form factor fits standard capacitor brackets and enclosures found in split-system condensers, air handlers, and package units. The 1/4-inch male blade terminals allow for straightforward wiring to motor leads. HVAC technicians performing seasonal maintenance, motor replacements, or capacitor upgrades will find this a direct-fit option for same-rated applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial HVAC systems requiring a single-phase, 12.5 MFD, 370-volt oval motor run capacitor.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit before removing or installing any capacitor, as run capacitors retain a charge even after power is cut — discharge the capacitor safely before handling. Verify that the replacement capacitor matches the MFD rating and voltage rating of the original unit; voltage ratings may be equal to or higher than the OEM specification. Secure the capacitor in its bracket and confirm all terminal connections are tight before restoring power.
