The MORTEX scg44k is an R-410A service coil piston designed for evaporator coil assemblies in mobile home HVAC applications. It serves as a fixed metering device that controls refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil, replacing a TXV or matching the coil's factory-rated orifice. The scg44k is also available with TXV compatibility for A2L refrigerants R-32 and R-454B, making it a forward-compatible choice as the industry transitions away from R-410A. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians. This piston is engineered to DOE 2023 standards and is specifically labeled for mobile home installation per federal requirements.
The scg44k is designed specifically to fit MORTEX MH-series furnace coil systems used in manufactured and mobile home installations. MORTEX offers a broad range of coil patterns and face areas under this service piston platform, supporting a vast number of AHRI-rated system matchups. The part is sold as a single unit and is intended for residential mobile home applications only. An optional RDS (refrigerant detection system) is available for installations using R-32 or R-454B where A2L safety compliance is required by local code.
Designed specifically to fit MORTEX MH furnace coil systems and is labeled for installation only in mobile home applications per DOE 2023. Also available with TXV for use with R-32 and R-454B A2L refrigerant systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and local jurisdiction requirements. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before servicing the metering device. Verify the piston size matches the system's required orifice diameter before installation. For A2L refrigerant applications using R-32 or R-454B, confirm that RDS requirements and local A2L handling codes are met before commissioning the system.
