The MORTEX cjg is a gray control joint stick designed for concrete flatwork applications. Each stick measures 12 feet in length and is used to create defined control joints in poured concrete slabs, helping manage cracking along predetermined lines. The cjg is compatible with the Mortex Expansion Base accessory, which snaps directly onto the control joint to form a full expansion joint assembly without additional tools. Licensed concrete finishers and flatwork contractors install this product during the pour process.
The cjg is sold in case quantities of 33 sticks, each 12 feet long, making it well suited for commercial and residential flatwork projects requiring consistent joint placement across large slab areas. When paired with the Mortex Expansion Base, the assembly can also serve as a screed guide during concrete finishing, allowing crews to divide and finish sections of a concrete pour in sequence. This dual function reduces the need for separate screed rails on many standard pours.
Designed for use with the Mortex Expansion Base accessory to create a full expansion joint system in poured concrete flatwork applications.
Installation is performed by concrete finishers and flatwork contractors during the pour stage. Place control joints at planned intervals before or during the pour in accordance with project specifications and applicable building codes. When using the cjg as a screed guide, ensure the joint is secured at the correct elevation before screeding begins. Do not reposition the joint after concrete has begun to set around it.
