The MORRIS PRODUCTS 97107 is a black insulated single-side-entry splice connector designed for splicing two conductors in electrical power distribution applications. This connector accepts wire sizes from 3/0 AWG down to 6 AWG and uses a single-entry design that simplifies installation in tight or awkward wiring environments. The insulated housing provides electrical isolation after the splice is made, eliminating the need for additional tape or heat shrink over the connection point. Electricians use this type of connector for service entrance work, feeder splices, and branch circuit extensions where a secure, insulated termination is required.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where conductors must be joined without a junction box terminal block. The single-side-entry configuration is particularly useful when both conductors enter from the same direction, reducing the need to reposition wire runs. Compatible conductor sizes range from 6 AWG through 3/0 AWG, accommodating a range of load-side and line-side feeder conductors commonly encountered in panel work and service upgrades.
Designed as an OEM-style insulated splice connector for use with copper conductors ranging from 6 AWG to 3/0 AWG in residential and commercial electrical power applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making any connections. Ensure conductors are properly stripped to the manufacturer-recommended strip length before inserting into the connector. Do not exceed the listed conductor size range, as undersized or oversized conductors may result in an unreliable termination.
