The MORRIS PRODUCTS 90550 is a copper mechanical lug designed for making solid electrical connections between conductors in a range of wire sizes. This lug accommodates conductors from 14 AWG up to 8 AWG on one end and 8 AWG to 14 AWG on the other, making it well suited for splicing or terminating copper wiring in panels, junction boxes, and distribution equipment. The all-copper construction provides low-resistance conductivity and compatibility with copper conductors. Electricians use this style of mechanical lug when a solderless, screw-secured termination is required for branch circuit wiring and equipment connections.
This mechanical lug is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations. Typical applications include panel terminations, service entrance connections, and equipment grounding or bonding points where copper-to-copper conductor connections are made. The wire range of 14 to 8 AWG covers standard branch circuit conductors, making this lug a practical choice for general electrical work handled by licensed electricians.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and equivalent to NSI TL8 copper mechanical lugs for use with 14 AWG to 8 AWG copper conductors in standard electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before installing or servicing any lug connection. Use the appropriate screwdriver or hex key to torque the clamping screw until the conductor is firmly secured without nicking the wire strands. Verify conductor insulation is stripped to the correct length before insertion.
