The MORRIS PRODUCTS 21896 is a heavy-duty reinforced porcelain wireholder designed to support and insulate overhead service conductors and utility wiring. Built from fired porcelain with a reinforced body, this wireholder provides a durable, non-conductive mounting point for wire runs on wood framing, fascia boards, and similar structural surfaces. The 0.375-inch lag bolt shank and 2.25-inch lag length allow for secure fastening into dimensional lumber. Electricians and utility installers use this type of fitting on residential and light commercial service entrances, outdoor wiring runs, and knob-and-tube style support applications where insulated standoff mounting is required.
This wireholder is suited for outdoor and exposed-location wiring installations where a weather-resistant, insulating support is needed. Typical applications include service drop attachment points, weatherhead support, perimeter wire routing on building exteriors, and any installation where conductors must be held away from a surface to prevent abrasion or moisture contact. The lag-mount design allows direct drive into wood substrates without a pre-drilled anchor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wireholder for standard overhead and perimeter conductor support applications on wood-framed structures.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all conductors before securing or adjusting wireholders on an active service run. Drive the lag directly into sound, dry lumber using an appropriately sized driver or wrench. Follow NEC guidelines for conductor support spacing and outdoor wiring methods applicable to the installation.
