The MOLDEX 6499 is a corded, reusable earplug designed for hearing protection in high-noise industrial and trade environments. The flanged rubber plug uses a push-in stem insertion method, making it straightforward to seat properly without rolling or compressing the plug body. Rated at 24 decibels (dB) Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) per ANSI S3.19-1974, this large-size earplug delivers consistent attenuation for workers exposed to elevated noise levels. The attached cord keeps the pair together between uses, reducing loss on active job sites.
The 6499 is suited for use in manufacturing facilities, construction sites, HVAC mechanical rooms, and other trade environments where sustained noise exposure requires compliant hearing protection. The reusable design supports multi-shift use and reduces per-worker consumable costs. The large sizing accommodates workers who find standard earplugs uncomfortable or insufficiently sealing. The brown flanged plug is easy to inspect for proper insertion depth before the work begins.
Designed as a general-purpose reusable corded earplug for large ear canal sizing, suitable for use across industrial, construction, and mechanical trade environments where ANSI S3.19-1974 compliant hearing protection is required.
Insert by gripping the stem and pushing the flanged plug directly into the ear canal until seated — no pre-rolling needed. Inspect the flange for tears or deformation before each use; damaged plugs should be replaced. Follow OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 hearing conservation program requirements when selecting and fitting hearing protection. Clean reusable plugs per the manufacturer guidance; do not use solvents that may degrade the rubber flange.
