The MODINE pdp250ae0185sban is a propane-fired, propeller-fan unit heater rated at 250,000 BTU/h input and designed for commercial and industrial heating applications. Operating on 115 volts and delivering 83 percent thermal efficiency, this hard-wired heater uses a clam-shell heat exchanger and a power exhauster that can rotate 180 degrees to allow vertical or horizontal venting. Single-stage gas control keeps operation straightforward, and the intermittent pilot-ignition system includes continuous retry to prevent nuisance lockouts. Licensed HVAC technicians typically handle installation, sizing, and commissioning.
This unit heater is suited for warehouses, garages, manufacturing facilities, and other large open spaces where suspended propane heat is the preferred solution. The propeller fan delivers heat across a wide coverage area. The power exhaust design allows flexible vent routing to match jobsite conditions, and the unit is engineered to use the smallest-diameter vent pipe practical for the application. Sites above 2,000 feet elevation require a high-altitude adjustment kit ordered separately.
Designed as a propane-fired suspended unit heater for commercial and industrial heating systems requiring single-stage control and propeller-fan air distribution. High-altitude applications above 2,000 feet require the appropriate Modine high-altitude adjustment kit.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Shut off all gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or mounting the unit. Hard-wire the 115-volt connection per NEC requirements, and ensure the vent system is properly sized and sealed to prevent flue gas backdraft. Consult the manufacturer's documentation for required clearances to combustibles and minimum vent pipe diameter.
