The MM Manufacturing 601-14X14X14 is a sheet metal register box with flange designed for use in forced-air HVAC duct systems. The flanged design allows the register box to seat flush against the ceiling, wall, or floor surface, providing a clean transition point between the duct run and the supply or return register grille. At 14 inches by 14 inches by 14 inches nominal, this box accommodates standard register openings in residential and light commercial applications. HVAC installers and sheet metal contractors work with this type of fitting during new construction and renovation duct work.
Register boxes with flanges are standard components in forced-air supply and return distribution systems. This box is suited for ceiling, sidewall, or floor installations where a duct opening terminates at a finished surface and a grille or register face plate must be mounted cleanly. The flanged perimeter holds the register securely against drywall, subfloor, or plaster surfaces without additional framing in most installations. Typical applications include residential split systems, heat pump air handlers, and gas furnace duct systems in new construction or retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style register box for use in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems requiring a flanged termination point at a 14-inch by 14-inch register opening.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor. Shut down the air handling system and de-energize the air handler or furnace before connecting or sealing ductwork. Seal all joints with UL-listed duct sealant or metal-backed tape in accordance with local mechanical codes. Verify that the register box is secured to the framing structure before mounting the grille face plate.
