The MK MORSE mhsg80 is a 5-inch carbide grit hole saw designed for cutting through very hard or highly abrasive materials where standard bi-metal saws fail. The continuous carbide grit edge grinds through material rather than cutting with teeth, which prevents stripping on thin stock and eliminates the chipping that occurs when carbide-tipped teeth meet brittle or layered surfaces. With a cutting depth of 1-15/16 inches, this saw handles most standard-depth applications in tile, fiber cement, cast iron, ceramics, and similar hard substrates. An arbor is required and sold separately.
This hole saw is suited for contractors, tile setters, and trades professionals who regularly work with materials that destroy conventional hole saws. Typical applications include cutting penetrations through hard tile, masonry board, cement board, hardened composites, and thin abrasive panels. Its grit-style cutting action is especially effective on materials that are too thin or brittle to withstand the aggressive tooth geometry of bi-metal saws.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use hole saw compatible with standard arbors sized for 5-inch hole saws.
Installation of this hole saw requires a matching arbor; confirm arbor compatibility with your drill or drill press before use. Secure the workpiece firmly before cutting to prevent movement on breakthrough. Use appropriate eye and respiratory protection when cutting abrasive materials such as tile or cement board. Follow tool manufacturer guidelines for speed settings when working with carbide grit saws.
