The MK MORSE 216647 is a 4-inch tungsten carbide grit hole saw designed for cutting through hard and abrasive materials where standard bi-metal saws fail. The gulleted cutting edge is embedded with tungsten carbide grit, allowing it to grind through dense substrates at controlled speeds between 40 and 125 rpm. The steel body pairs with a 3/8-inch hex shank for positive chuck engagement with minimal runout. A cutting depth of 1-15/16 inches accommodates typical wall and masonry thicknesses encountered in trade work. Licensed contractors and experienced tradespeople performing rough-in, retrofit, or core-drilling tasks are the primary users of this saw.
This hole saw is suited for residential and light commercial applications where penetrations must be made through cement, brick, cinder block, cast iron, plaster with lath, unglazed ceramics, fiberglass, and composites. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians use carbide grit hole saws when routing pipe, conduit, or duct through masonry walls, concrete block foundations, or composite panels. The 4-inch diameter is a common size for larger conduit sleeves, vent penetrations, and drain rough-ins.
Designed for use with arbor MA35PSCT. The 5/8-18 threaded connection is standard for the MHSG series arbor system. Fits 3/8-inch chuck drills and drill drivers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson using a corded drill or drill press capable of maintaining low, controlled speeds between 40 and 125 rpm. Mark the center point clearly and use the pilot drill to establish the cut before engaging the full saw diameter. Keep water or a coolant nearby when cutting dense masonry to reduce heat and extend tool life. Ensure the workpiece is secured before beginning the cut to prevent binding or kickback.
