The MITUTOYO 7032-10 is a magnetic indicator base designed to hold dial indicators, test indicators, and similar precision measuring instruments during inspection and machining operations. The base uses a switchable permanent magnet rated at 600 N of pull force, allowing fast, secure attachment to ferrous machine tables, surface plates, and workholding fixtures without tools. A simple on/off switch controls magnet engagement, reducing setup time and surface marking risk. The dovetail mount accepts post stems from 6 mm to 9.53 mm in diameter, and the post extends to 260 mm, providing wide vertical reach for positioning the indicator at the required measurement point. Installation requires no special tools or power source.
This indicator base is suited for precision measurement tasks in manufacturing, toolroom, and quality-control environments. Typical applications include runout checks, surface flatness verification, part alignment on milling machines and lathes, and fixture setup inspection. The compact 50 mm x 50 mm footprint allows placement in confined areas on machine tables or granite surface plates. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, QC inspectors, and metrology technicians are the primary users of this type of stand.
Designed as a standard magnetic indicator base compatible with dial indicators and test indicators using mounting stems of 6 mm, 8 mm, or 9.53 mm diameter on the dovetail post.
A licensed machinist or metrology technician should position the base on a clean, flat ferrous surface free of chips, coolant, or debris before engaging the magnet. Power down or lock out any machine spindle before placing the base on a machine table to prevent movement during setup. Do not engage the magnet on non-ferrous surfaces, as pull force will be significantly reduced or absent. Inspect the post and indicator clamp for secure tightening before zeroing the indicator.
