The MITUTOYO 539-205-40 is an AT113 series high-accuracy glass linear scale designed for precision position measurement in machine tool and metrology applications. It delivers a maximum measuring range of 12.99 inches (300 mm) with a resolution range of 0.000005 inches to 0.001 inches (0.0001 mm to 0.01 mm), depending on the interface used. Positional accuracy is rated at 0.000250 inches. The scale housing carries an IP53 ingress protection rating, providing resistance to dust and light moisture splash. Licensed metrology technicians, machine tool service engineers, and precision instrument specialists are the primary installers and integrators of this scale.
The AT113 series glass linear scale is suited for installation on CNC machining centers, grinding machines, EDM equipment, coordinate measuring machines, and other precision motion stages where closed-loop feedback or digital readout (DRO) is required. It is appropriate for both light industrial and controlled metrology lab environments. The operating temperature range is 0 to 45 degrees C, making it compatible with standard shop-floor and lab conditions. The 9.84-inch (3.00-meter) cable provides routing flexibility in typical machine installations.
Designed for use with compatible Mitutoyo AT113 series interfaces and digital readout systems that accept standard linear encoder signal outputs. Verify encoder signal type and connector compatibility with the target DRO or CNC controller before installation.
Linear scales of this type are installed by qualified machine tool technicians or metrology specialists familiar with encoder mounting tolerances and alignment procedures. Power down all machine axes and disengage motion controls before mounting or removing the scale. Follow the machine manufacturer and encoder manufacturer alignment specifications to maintain rated accuracy. Storage temperature limits of -20 to 70 degrees C must be observed to prevent damage to the glass scale substrate.
