The MITUTOYO 516-314-26 is a 35-piece ceramic gage block set covering a measurement range of 0.1001 to 4 inches. Ceramic blocks offer high hardness and low thermal expansion compared to steel, making them well suited for precision dimensional inspection work. The set meets ASME B89.1.9-2002 accuracy standards at Grade 0, with tolerances of 12 micro inches at the 4-inch block, 5 micro inches for blocks in the 0.1 to 0.4 inch range, 6 micro inches for blocks in the 0.45 to 1 inch range, and 8 micro inches at the 2-inch block. Each block is individually serialized and the set ships with an inspection certificate and a wooden storage case.
This gage block set is intended for use in calibration labs, quality control departments, and precision machining environments where traceable dimensional standards are required. Step increments are organized in four groups: three blocks at 1.000-inch steps, nine blocks at 0.0001-inch steps, nine blocks at 0.001-inch steps, and nine blocks at 0.01-inch steps. Metrology technicians, tool room machinists, and quality engineers typically deploy this set to calibrate measuring instruments, set comparators, or verify part dimensions to tight tolerances.

Gage blocks are precision metrology tools and should be handled by qualified metrology or quality technicians. Allow blocks to thermally stabilize to the measurement environment before use, as ceramic has low but nonzero thermal expansion. Clean wringing surfaces carefully before combining blocks, and store each block in its designated slot in the wooden case to prevent contact damage. Do not drop or stack blocks loosely, as ceramic is brittle and surface damage will affect calibration validity.
