The MITUTOYO 513-415-10E is a horizontal-style dial test indicator designed for precision measurement in machining, inspection, and metrology applications. It delivers a measurement range of 1.00 mm with a dial graduation of 0.01 mm and an accuracy of 0.01 mm (10 micrometers), making it suitable for surface runout checks, alignment work, and part inspection on machine tools and surface plates. The 0-50-0 bidirectional dial face is printed on a glare-free, scratch-resistant crystal over a yellow background for clear reading under shop lighting. A jeweled bearing mechanism ensures smooth, repeatable stylus movement and long service life under continuous use.
This indicator is intended for use in precision manufacturing, quality control labs, and tool room environments. It installs on standard indicator holders, magnetic bases, and articulating arms via the knurled clamp ring included with the unit. Typical applications include checking spindle runout, verifying part flatness, setting up workpiece datums, and inspecting bore concentricity. The horizontal orientation suits setups where the stylus must approach a workpiece from the side. One contact point is included, and the carbide-tipped ball contact measures 2.00 mm in diameter with a contact point length of 44.50 mm.
Part of the MITUTOYO Series 513. Designed for use with standard indicator holders, magnetic base clamps, and articulating arm fixtures that accept the knurled clamp ring mounting style common to horizontal dial test indicators.
Installation is performed by metrology technicians, machinists, or quality control personnel. Secure the indicator in a rigid holder or magnetic base before taking measurements to prevent reading errors caused by indicator movement. Ensure the stylus contact angle is consistent with the measurement axis to avoid cosine error. Do not overtighten the clamp ring, as this can distort the indicator body and affect accuracy.
