The MITUTOYO 513-414-10T is a horizontal dial test indicator designed for high-precision measurement in machining, inspection, and alignment applications. It features a 40mm yellow dial with a 0-25-0 readout format and a graduation of 0.01mm, giving technicians fine resolution over a 1mm total range. This indicator suits horizontal contact measurement setups on surface plates, milling machines, lathes, and CMM fixtures. The 0-25-0 bidirectional dial with automatic reversal allows fast back-and-forth traverse checks without resetting. Installation is performed by metrology technicians or machinists using a compatible dovetail clamp or stem-mount holder. Ensure the contact point is aligned perpendicular to the measurement surface to avoid cosine error. Do not overtighten the clamping screw on the indicator stem, as excess clamping force can distort the housing and affect calibration. Handle the instrument carefully to avoid shock loads that can damage the jeweled bearing assembly.
