It features a 40mm dual-color white and yellow dial with a graduation of 0.0005 inches and a measurement range of 0 to 0.03 inches. The indicator uses a jeweled bearing for smooth, consistent needle movement and accuracy to 0.0005 inches. The no-clutch structure and automatic reversal mechanism reduce wear and improve repeatability over extended use. This horizontal-style dial test indicator is suited for surface plate work, lathe and mill setup, fixture alignment, and incoming inspection tasks in both job shop and production environments. Ensure the contact point is positioned to contact the workpiece at the correct angle of deflection to maintain measurement accuracy. Do not overtighten the mounting clamp on the indicator body, as excessive clamping force can affect readings. Follow the machine or fixture manufacturer guidelines for securing and zeroing the indicator before taking measurements.
