The MITUTOYO 500-769-20 is an IP67-rated electronic digital caliper from the 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, designed for precision measurement in wet and contaminated shop environments. It delivers a measurement range of 0 to 6 inches with a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0010 inches. The caliper body and jaws are constructed from hardened stainless steel for durability under daily trade use. It features knife-edge jaws with a jaw length of 1.5748 inches and supports four measurement modes: outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, and step. Data output is included for integration with SPC systems. HVAC technicians, machinists, pipefitters, and precision tradespeople rely on this tool for field and bench work where coolant or wash-down exposure is common.
This caliper is suited for residential and commercial mechanical trades, fabrication shops, and HVAC service environments where parts must be measured with high repeatability despite exposure to water, cutting fluid, or cleaning spray. The IP67 rating means the caliper can withstand temporary immersion, making it appropriate for wet bench work or outdoor service calls. The ABSOLUTE encoder system retains position on power-up, eliminating the need to zero the tool at the home position before each use. It includes inside diameter jaws, a depth measurement rod, a carrying case, and one SR44 silver oxide battery.
Designed as an OEM-quality precision measuring instrument within the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, compatible with standard SPC data collection systems that accept Mitutoyo data output connections.
No installation is required; this is a handheld measuring instrument. Before first use, install the included SR44 silver oxide battery and verify zero at the closed jaw position. Keep the jaw faces clean and free of debris before taking measurements to ensure accuracy. Follow applicable shop calibration protocols and store in the included case to protect the measuring faces when not in use.
