The MITUTOYO 500-764-20 is a digital electronic caliper built for precision measurement in demanding shop and field environments. Part of the 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, it delivers a maximum measurement range of 12 inches (300 mm) with a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0015 inches. The stainless steel body and stainless steel knife-edge jaws resist wear and stand up to cutting fluids, coolant, and general shop contamination. The IP67 rating confirms full dust-tight construction and short-term water immersion protection. An integrated depth rod and inside-diameter jaws extend measuring capability beyond standard outside measurements. Machinists, toolmakers, QC inspectors, and precision trades professionals use this instrument for direct part measurement and digital data logging.
The 500-764-20 handles four measurement modes: outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, and step. The knife-edge jaw style makes it suitable for measuring grooves, narrow shoulders, and contoured surfaces that standard flat jaws cannot access cleanly. The thumb wheel allows fine, controlled jaw adjustment for repeatable measurements. Data output capability lets the caliper connect to a compatible SPC data collection system or statistical process control software for in-process inspection and documentation. The included case, battery, and factory-installed SR44 silver oxide battery mean the instrument is ready for immediate use out of the box.
Designed as an OEM-style instrument in the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series. Data output is compatible with MITUTOYO SPC data collection cables and interfaces. Confirm connector compatibility with your data collection hardware before ordering.
No installation is required for handheld use. Before connecting the data output cable to any SPC system, power down the receiving device per the manufacturer instructions to avoid signal errors. Handle the jaw tips with care during storage and transport as knife-edge geometry is susceptible to damage if dropped. Battery replacement requires a standard SR44 silver oxide cell and a small-slot screwdriver to access the battery compartment.
