The MITUTOYO 500-754-20CAL is a 12-inch absolute electronic caliper designed for precision dimensional measurement in demanding shop and field environments. Part of the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, it delivers a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0015 inches across its full 0 to 12 inch (0 to 300 mm) measurement range. The caliper body and jaws are constructed from hardened stainless steel, and the unit carries an IP67 rating for full protection against coolant, cutting fluid, and dust ingress. It ships NIST traceable calibrated and TUV Rheinland certified, making it ready for quality-controlled environments immediately out of the box. A licensed metrologist, machinist, or quality technician is the typical end user.
This caliper is suited for inside diameter, outside diameter, depth, and step measurements in manufacturing, machine shop, HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in verification, and general precision trade work. The knife-edge jaw style and inside/outside jaw configuration support a broad range of workpiece geometries. The unit is particularly well matched to applications where coolant or wash-down exposure would damage a non-sealed instrument. It is powered by a single SR44 silver oxide battery, which is included, and adjustment is handled via a thumb wheel for controlled slide movement.
Designed as an OEM-specification instrument within the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, compatible with standard data and accessory ecosystems for that platform. No SPC data output port is included on this variant.
Calipers require no installation in the traditional sense, but calibration verification should be performed before first use and after any drop or impact event. Store the caliper with the jaws slightly open to prevent jaw-face wear during storage. Keep the slide clean and free of chips or debris before use; do not force the thumb wheel against an obstruction. Periodic cleaning with a lint-free cloth and light machine oil on the beam is recommended for instruments used in coolant-heavy environments.
