The MITUTOYO 500-735-20 is a coolant-proof electronic digital caliper from the 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, designed for precision dimensional measurement in demanding shop environments. It covers a measurement range of 0 to 6 inches (0 to 150 mm) with a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0010 inches. The caliper features hardened stainless steel construction with carbide-tipped knife-edge jaws, and carries an IP67 rating for full protection against coolant, cutting fluid, and dust exposure. It includes a data output port for direct connection to SPC data collection systems. Installed by machinists, QC technicians, and precision measurement professionals.
The 500-735-20 is suited for inside diameter, outside diameter, depth, and step measurements in both production floor and inspection room applications. Knife-edge jaws with a jaw length of 1.5748 inches (40 mm) allow access to narrow grooves and small-bore features. The thumb wheel jaw adjustment provides fine, controlled positioning. This caliper ships with a battery, protective case, and a SR44 silver oxide battery already installed, making it ready for immediate use. It is appropriate for general manufacturing, toolroom, and maintenance environments where coolant or wash-down exposure is common.
Designed as an OEM-specified instrument within the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series. Compatible with standard SPC data collection cables and interfaces that accept Mitutoyo digimatic output signals. Verify cable and interface compatibility with your data collection system prior to installation.
No permanent installation is required. Before first use, verify the battery is seated correctly and zero the caliper on a clean, closed-jaw reference. Keep the measuring faces and beam free of chips and abrasive debris to maintain accuracy. The SR44 battery should be replaced when the low-battery indicator activates; always power off the unit before changing the battery.
