The MITUTOYO 500-732-20CAL is a coolant-proof electronic caliper designed for precision measurement in demanding shop environments. Part of the 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, it delivers a measurement range of 0 to 8 inches with a resolution of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0010 inches. The caliper body and jaws are constructed from hardened stainless steel, with carbide-tipped knife-edge jaws rated for inside and outside measurement tasks. It carries an IP67 rating for full protection against coolant, cutting fluid, and dust exposure, making it a dependable tool for production floors, machine shops, and fabrication environments. The unit ships calibrated with NIST traceability certification included.
This caliper is suited for metrology and quality-control work in residential and commercial fabrication, machining, HVAC component manufacturing, and plumbing or mechanical trades where precise dimensional verification is required. It measures outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, and step dimensions using the included depth measurement rod and inside diameter jaws. Jaw adjustment is controlled via a thumb wheel for fine positioning. Typical users include machinists, QC inspectors, tool-and-die technicians, and field service professionals who require a certified, waterproof measuring instrument.
Designed as an OEM-style precision measuring instrument within the MITUTOYO 500 ABSOLUTE Coolant-Proof series, suitable for use wherever a calibrated IP67 electronic caliper with a 0 to 8 inches range is specified.
Electronic calipers require no installation but should be handled and stored per the manufacturer guidance included in the case. Before use, verify the battery is seated correctly using the included SR44 silver oxide cell and confirm the zero-set function is performed on a clean, closed jaw. Calibration certificate documents should be retained for quality-system records. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners on the jaw faces or digital display.
