The MITUTOYO 468-268 is a 3-point electronic inside micrometer designed for precision bore and internal diameter measurement. It covers a measurement range of 1.2000 to 1.6000 inches with a resolution of 0.00005 inches and an accuracy of 0.00015 inches. The spindle uses a ratchet stop thimble for consistent measuring force. The body carries a titanium nitride finish for enhanced wear resistance and durability. A large LCD display with 7.5 mm character height makes readings easy to confirm in shop environments. The IP65 ingress protection rating means the instrument resists dust and coolant splash, making it suitable for use at the machine tool.
The 468-268 is used in applications requiring tight bore tolerances, including engine block cylinder inspection, hydraulic housing bores, and precision machined component verification. Three contact points provide self-centering alignment and more repeatable readings than two-point style bore gauges. The built-in data output port supports SPC data collection when connected to compatible data acquisition equipment. Dimensional inspection technicians, machinists, and quality control personnel working in manufacturing and heavy equipment environments are the primary users of this instrument.
Designed as a direct-use electronic inside micrometer for precision bore measurement applications in the 1.2000 to 1.6000 inch range. Confirm bore diameter range before use; this instrument does not accept interchangeable anvils for extended range.
This instrument requires no installation but should be zeroed and calibrated against a certified ring gauge before use. Store in the included plastic case away from temperature extremes and magnetic fields. Battery replacement uses a standard SR44 cell; open the battery compartment only in a clean, dry environment. Data output connections should follow the equipment manufacturer's interface specifications for SPC-compatible collection systems.
