The MITUTOYO 342-351-30 is an electronic point micrometer designed for precision measurement of grooves, steps, keyways, and similar hard-to-reach features. It delivers a measuring range of 0 to 1 inch with an accuracy of 0.0001 inch and a graduation of 0.001 inch (0.01 mm). The 15-degree point angle on both the spindle and anvil allows access to narrow workpiece geometry that a standard micrometer cannot reach. The ratchet stop thimble provides consistent measuring force on every reading. Both contact points are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. Licensed metrology technicians, machinists, and quality control inspectors are the primary users of this instrument.
This micrometer is suited for dimensional inspection in machine shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing quality labs. The 32 mm throat depth and 18 mm head diameter allow the instrument to reach into recessed features without interference from surrounding material. The point length is 0.3937 inch. Applications include checking groove widths, keyway depths, narrow land widths, and similar precision features where standard anvil geometry cannot make solid contact.
Designed as a standard electronic outside point micrometer in the 0 to 1 inch range; compatible with SPC data collection equipment that accepts standard Mitutoyo data output signal.
No installation is required for handheld measuring instruments. Before use, verify zero calibration using the supplied standard or gauge block per shop calibration procedures. Handle carbide measuring faces with care to avoid chipping. Store in the supplied plastic case when not in use to protect the measuring faces and electronics.
