The MITUTOYO 314-362-30 is an electronic V anvil micrometer designed to measure the diameter of 3-flute cutting tools such as end mills, reamers, and drill bits. It covers a measurement range of 0.4 to 1 inch with a resolution of 0.0001 inch and an accuracy of 0.0002 inch (4 micrometers). The V-shaped anvil seats against two flutes while the spindle contacts the third, enabling true outer diameter measurement on odd-flute tooling. Both the anvil and spindle are carbide-faced for durability and wear resistance. A ratchet stop thimble provides consistent measuring force. The instrument includes data output capability, allowing readings to be transmitted to a compatible data collection system or SPC software. Installed and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality control professionals.
This micrometer is suited for precision measurement applications in machine shops, tool and die operations, and quality assurance environments. This instrument requires no installation in the traditional sense but should be handled and stored per standard precision metrology practices. Calibrate or verify against a known standard before use and periodically thereafter. Keep the measuring faces clean and free of chips or coolant residue before each measurement. Battery replacement should be performed with the instrument powered off, using a SR44 cell.
