The MITUTOYO 192-672-10 is a precision electronic height gage designed for layout, inspection, and measurement tasks on surface plates. It delivers a maximum measurement range of 24 inches (600 mm) with an accuracy of 0.0015 inches (0.030 mm). Resolution is user-switchable between 0.0005 inches and 0.0002 inches, giving the operator control over readout sensitivity to match the task. A large LCD displays readings clearly, and the built-in SPC data output port allows measurements to be transmitted directly to a data collection system or computer. This gage is installed and operated by quality control technicians, machinists, and metrology professionals in production and inspection environments.
The 192-672-10 is suited for dimensional inspection in machine shops, tool rooms, and quality labs. Typical applications include scribing layout lines, checking part heights, and verifying perpendicularity on a surface plate. The switchable inch/mm display makes it practical in both imperial and metric workflows. The inclined slider handle and coarse/fine feeding switch support controlled, repeatable positioning during measurement. The unit ships with a scriber accessory included.
Designed as an OEM-specification electronic height gage for use on standard surface plates in inspection and machining applications.
Height gages of this type are operated by trained metrology personnel or machinists familiar with surface plate technique. Before use, ensure the surface plate is clean and level, and allow the gage to acclimate to ambient temperature to minimize thermal expansion effects. No power tools or cutting operations are involved in setup; handling care should be taken to avoid dropping or impacting the carbide scriber or measuring beam. Battery replacement uses a single SR44 cell.
