The MITUTOYO 188-111 is a screw pitch gage used to identify and verify thread pitch on fasteners, tapped holes, and threaded rod. It covers a range of 4 to 42 threads per inch (TPI) using 30 individual stainless steel leaves, each stamped with its corresponding TPI value. The 60-degree thread angle matches the profile of standard unified (UN/UNC/UNF) and metric-compatible thread forms. Machinists, pipefitters, millwrights, and maintenance technicians use this tool to quickly match an unknown thread pitch before selecting taps, dies, or replacement fasteners.
This gage is suited for general shop and field use wherever threaded connections must be identified or verified. Common applications include matching replacement hardware on mechanical equipment, verifying thread pitch on pipe fittings before assembly, and inspecting threaded components during maintenance or fabrication work. The wide TPI range covers the most common coarse and fine thread pitches found in industrial and trade settings.
Designed for use on standard 60-degree thread-form fasteners and fittings across the 4 to 42 TPI range, covering common unified coarse and fine thread series used in industrial and trade applications.
No installation is required for this measuring tool. Fan out individual leaves and lay each against the threaded part until the leaf seats flush with no visible gaps, indicating a match. Keep leaves clean and free of grease or debris for accurate readings. Store the gage closed to protect leaf edges from damage.
