The MITUTOYO 1507AB is a dial drop indicator designed for precise dimensional measurement in tool rooms, machine shops, and inspection environments. It covers a measurement range of 0 to 0.125 inches with a graduation of 0.0005 inches and an accuracy of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance work where reliable, repeatable readings are essential. The 0-25-0 dial reading format allows bidirectional measurement from a reference zero point. The indicator features a flat back, a revolution counter, and a glare-free, scratch-resistant crystal face. It is installed and used by machinists, quality control technicians, and precision measurement professionals.
The 1507AB is applied wherever fine surface variation, runout, parallelism, or flatness must be quantified on machined parts, fixtures, or assemblies. Its compact form factor and standard stem diameter make it compatible with typical magnetic-base holders, surface gauges, and transfer stands found in industrial measurement setups. The indicator travels 0.05 inches per revolution, giving a clear visual resolution of dial movement relative to part displacement. It ships with green limit markers and a plastic protective case, making it ready for immediate use on the inspection bench or at the machine.
Designed for use with standard dial indicator holders, magnetic bases, and surface gauges that accept a 3/8-inch stem diameter. Meets ANSI/AGD standards for dial indicators.
Mounting and use of this indicator should be performed by a qualified machinist or metrology technician. Secure the 3/8-inch stem firmly in the holder before taking readings to prevent measurement error from stem movement. Avoid applying lateral force to the spindle, as side loading can affect accuracy and damage the internal mechanism. Store the indicator in the included case when not in use to protect the crystal and spindle from shop debris.
