The MITUTOYO 136075 is a carbide ball contact point designed for use with dial test indicators. It provides a precise, wear-resistant contact surface for accurate measurement work on machine tools, inspection fixtures, and surface plates. The ball tip measures 0.0787 inches in diameter and the contact point length is 0.59 inches. Carbide construction gives this contact point extended service life compared to steel alternatives, making it a reliable choice for high-cycle inspection environments. It is typically installed and used by machinists, metrologists, and quality control technicians.
This contact point is intended for bench-top and in-process measurement applications where a ball-style tip is required for consistent contact on curved, grooved, or irregular surfaces. It threads into the stylus mount of compatible dial test indicators and is suited for both shop floor and laboratory inspection setups. The small ball diameter enables contact in tight-tolerance situations where a flat or pointed tip would introduce cosine error or make access difficult.
Designed for use with Mitutoyo 513 Series Dial Test Indicators.
Contact point replacement is performed by machinists or metrology technicians using the appropriate spanner or contact point wrench. Before replacing the contact point, remove the indicator from any active measuring setup and secure it in a holder to prevent dropping or damage. Thread the contact point in by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide tip or damage the indicator spindle thread. Verify indicator function and zero-point after any contact point change.
