The MITUTOYO 123-127 is a mechanical disc micrometer designed for measuring the thickness of disc-shaped and hard-to-reach workpieces where a standard anvil cannot make proper contact. The 20mm disc anvil and spindle disc allow measurement across thin ribs, paper, film, and similar features. It covers a measurement range of 2 to 3 inches with a 0.001 inch graduation and an accuracy rating of 0.0003 inch. The ratchet stop thimble delivers consistent measuring force to reduce operator-to-operator variation. The satin chrome finish limits glare and resists corrosion during shop use. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, and quality control inspectors are the typical users of this instrument.
The 123-127 is suited for dimensional inspection tasks in manufacturing, fabrication, and quality assurance environments. Its disc contact geometry makes it well-suited for measuring rolled stock, gaskets, thin-walled sections, and features that present only a narrow contact surface to a standard micrometer anvil. The instrument is used at the bench, on the inspection table, or at the machine. It is appropriate for both production-floor spot checks and more formal first-article or in-process inspection workflows.
Designed as a direct-use precision measuring instrument for workpieces in the 2 to 3 inch range that require disc-type contact geometry rather than a standard flat anvil.
This is a precision measuring instrument, not an installed component. Calibrate or verify the micrometer against a known standard before use. Store in the supplied case away from heat, moisture, and vibration to maintain calibration. Do not overtighten the thimble or apply force beyond what the ratchet stop mechanism allows, as this can affect accuracy.
