The MITUTOYO 123-102 is a mechanical disc micrometer designed for precision measurement of parts where a standard anvil cannot make proper contact, such as grooves, keyways, and recessed features. It covers a measuring range of 25 to 50mm and delivers 0.001mm resolution with 4 micrometer accuracy. The ratchet stop thimble provides consistent measuring force across repeated measurements, reducing operator-to-operator variation. The satin chrome finish resists corrosion and reduces glare during use. This instrument is used by machinists, quality control technicians, and tool-and-die professionals in manufacturing and inspection environments.
The 123-102 is suited for applications where a conventional flat anvil cannot seat properly against the workpiece. The 20mm disc anvil with a 0.70mm edge thickness allows contact inside narrow slots, grooves, and similar recessed geometry. The rotating spindle with a 6.35mm spindle diameter accommodates a range of part configurations. It carries an IP65 water resistance rating, making it suitable for use in light coolant environments on the shop floor. A plastic case is included for storage and transport. Data output capability supports integration with SPC data collection systems.

This instrument is used by metrology technicians and quality control personnel and does not require installation in the traditional sense. Before use, clean the disc anvil and spindle face with a lint-free cloth and verify the zero setting against a reference standard. The SR44 battery included powers the data output function. Do not overtighten the thimble or apply lateral force to the disc anvil, as this can affect calibration and damage the disc edge.
