The MITUTOYO 123-101 is a mechanical disc micrometer designed for precise outside measurement of grooves, keyways, and narrow recessed features that standard anvil micrometers cannot reach. It covers a measurement range of 0 to 25mm with a graduation of 0.01mm and delivers an accuracy of 4 micrometers. The 20mm disc anvil and 6.35mm spindle allow the tool to seat flush against recessed surfaces for repeatable readings. A ratchet stop thimble controls measuring force to promote consistent results across measurements. The satin chrome finish resists corrosion and reduces glare during use. The MITUTOYO 123-101 is used in applications where a conventional flat anvil cannot access a narrow groove, undercut, or disc-brake-type surface. Typical install and use scenarios include inspection of disc brake rotors, spline grooves, snap-ring channels, and similar recessed geometry on machined components. It is equally applicable on the shop floor and in quality-control inspection stations. The ratchet stop thimble makes it practical for repetitive measurement tasks where operator-to-operator force variation would otherwise introduce error.
