The MITUTOYO 1045A is a metric dial drop indicator designed for precision dimensional measurement in machining, inspection, and quality control applications. It features a 0-50 dial reading with 0.010 mm graduations and a full measurement range of 0 to 5.00 mm, delivering an accuracy of 0.013 mm. The lug back mount allows for secure fixture attachment on magnetic bases, surface plates, and inspection stands. A revolution counter tracks full-cycle travel, and the glare-free, scratch-resistant crystal keeps the white dial readable in shop and lab environments alike. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, metrologists, and QC inspectors are the primary users of this instrument.
The 1045A is suited for residential and commercial machine shop environments, tool and die work, and production-line inspection setups where repeatable drop-style measurement is required. The 8.00 mm stem diameter and 13.00 mm stem length fit standard indicator holders and dovetail clamps. The 40.00 mm dial diameter provides clear reading at typical bench-top working distances. Green limit markers are included for fast pass/fail visual checks during repetitive inspection runs. This indicator conforms to ISO/JIS standards and is classified under UNSPSC code 41111630.
Designed as an OEM-style metric dial drop indicator conforming to ISO/JIS standards, suitable for use with standard 8.00 mm stem indicator holders, magnetic bases, and surface plate fixtures common in machine shop and quality inspection setups.
Installation is performed by machinists, metrologists, or QC technicians using standard indicator holders and clamping hardware. Secure the lug back to a rigid fixture before zeroing the dial to avoid measurement error from vibration or movement. Do not overtighten the stem clamp, as this can distort the stem and affect spindle travel. Zero the indicator against a reference surface before taking measurements.
